Srinagar, Jammu and Kashmir: Srinagar: Directorate of AYUSH, Jammu and Kashmir organised a Mega Free AYUSH Medical Camp in Srinagar to improve public access to health care services and to spread awareness about the traditional systems of medicine, preventive health care and yoga.

The camp was conducted under the direction of Director AYUSH J&K Dr. Ajay Kumar Tickoo and supervision of District AYUSH Officer, Srinagar, Dr. Mohd Sultan Parray.

It was reported that the drive saw AYUSH medical officers, chemists, laboratory staff, yoga therapists, instructors and supporting staff come together to provide health care services to members of the public.

Free Health Care Services for All

The camp provided free medical consultations, health check-ups, medicines and health counselling. More reports on the Srinagar initiative said 630 beneficiaries availed healthcare services and 75 laboratory investigations were conducted.

The program was aimed at improving accessibility to healthcare and creating awareness among the public about the services available under the AYUSH systems.

Preventive Healthcare and Yoga in Focus

Yoga and preventive wellness was an important part of the camp. Yoga instructors and therapists held yoga sessions to motivate participants to adopt yoga and other healthy lifestyle habits in their daily lives.

In all, 121 people said they had attended the yoga sessions, including 87 children. The presence of children demonstrated the initiative’s emphasis on engaging younger age groups in physical activity and wellness practices.

Enhancing Community Healthcare with AYUSH outreach

Community-based health camps provide an opportunity for people to get consultations and health information and learn about different systems of health care. Additionally, such initiatives can help to raise awareness about preventive health practices and the available public health services.

The AYUSH J&K Directorate has shown its commitment to public-oriented healthcare initiatives through outreach programs that include traditional systems of medicine, counselling, yoga, and wellness education.

This camp in Srinagar is a mirror of these efforts to reach out to the community for expansion of healthcare services and greater public participation in preventive healthcare.
