ITRA Jamnagar Announces Six-Day CME Programmes for Ayurveda Teachers in November 2026

The Institute of Teaching and Research in Ayurveda (ITRA), Jamnagar, has announced six-day Continuing Medical Education (CME) programmes for teachers in three Ayurveda specialities. Scheduled for 16–21 November 2026, the programmes are sponsored by the Ministry of Ayush, Government of India, and coordinated by Rashtriya Ayurveda Vidyapeeth (RAV), New Delhi.

ITRA, an Institute of National Importance, will host the programmes at its campus in Jamnagar, Gujarat. The announcement outlines eligibility, application requirements, travel reimbursement and attendance conditions for participating faculty.

Who Are the Programmes For?

The CMEs are intended for teaching faculty working in NCISM-recognised Ayurveda colleges in the following departments:

  • Kriya Sharira
  • Prasuti Tantra evam Stree Roga
  • Roga Nidana evam Vikriti Vigyan

Each CME is limited to 30 participants. Preference will be given to eligible teachers who have attended fewer CMEs, helping extend access to faculty with fewer previous opportunities to participate.

Application Requirements and Important Dates

According to the circular dated 15 September 2026, applicants were required to submit the prescribed application form through the proper institutional channel, with the recommendation and signature of their institute’s head.

The announced deadlines were:

  • Online submission: 30 September 2026, by 6:00 p.m.
  • Receipt of hard copies: 5 October 2026, by 5:00 p.m.
  • Selection notification: By email on or before 10 October 2026.

The application deadlines have now passed. Teachers seeking clarification about their application or any further opportunity to participate should contact the respective department. The circular does not announce an extension.

Required supporting documents included undergraduate and postgraduate degree certificates, a valid Central or State registration certificate with renewal, a service joining letter, PAN card, Aadhaar card, and the first page of a bank passbook or a cancelled cheque.

Scanned applications and supporting documents were to be submitted through the respective department’s Google Form. Hard copies were to reach the relevant Head of Department at ITRA through Speed Post or courier. Incomplete applications or those without institutional recommendation would not be considered.

Travel Reimbursement: What Participants Should Know

Eligible participants may receive reimbursement of the actual travel fare or AC two-tier rail fare, whichever is lower, subject to the scheme’s rules.

Rail tickets must be purchased only through railway ticket counters or the IRCTC website or application. Tickets booked through third-party platforms are not eligible for reimbursement. Tatkal and dynamic-pricing train tickets will also not be reimbursed.

Road travel reimbursement is permissible for places not connected by rail, within the applicable limits and Government of India rules.

The circular also provides for reimbursement of journey-period food bills up to ₹300, against original bills. This does not apply to journeys by Shatabdi, Rajdhani, Duronto or Vande Bharat Express trains. Local participants may receive a one-time local travel allowance of ₹500 per CME for the round trip.

TA/DA payments will be transferred directly to participants’ bank accounts at the end of the programme. In an epidemic-related lockdown situation, participants must bear their train-ticket and cancellation costs themselves.

Accommodation and Attendance

ITRA will provide lodging and boarding within the CME budget, with accommodation arranged on a twin-sharing basis.

Full attendance is mandatory to receive a participation certificate. Certificates will be issued at the end of the CME, making it important for selected teachers to plan for the entire six-day schedule.

Preparing for the November Programmes

The announced CMEs offer eligible Ayurveda teachers an opportunity for continuing professional education at ITRA. Selected participants should confirm arrangements with their department, follow the prescribed travel-booking rules and retain original documents needed for reimbursement.

The institute notes that the programmes may be rescheduled, postponed or cancelled under unforeseen circumstances. Participants should therefore check official updates before finalising travel.
